Engineering Scope
Confirm whether bidirectional operation is supported by the machine and line before describing the workflow.
Any flatness, speed, capacity, roll setting, material-strength or residual-stress statement requires a defined machine, material and measurement method. The leveler does not own decoiler tension/containment, feeder pitch, die pilots or press timing.
In the realm of sheet metal processing, achieving high-precision results is crucial for ensuring the quality and performance of the final product. One of the essential steps in this process is stress relief and leveling of the sheet before stamping. However, traditional sheet leveling machines have a significant limitation—they can only level the transverse surface of metal sheets, leaving the longitudinal surface unaddressed. This limitation poses a challenge for certain specialized applications where both the longitudinal and transverse surfaces require leveling to achieve optimal results. The industry, therefore, urgently needs an innovative solution that can effectively level both surfaces of the sheet.
To address this issue, we have developed and produced a cutting-edge solution: the Dual-Direction Four-Sided Leveling Machine. This advanced machine is equipped with both transverse and longitudinal leveling mechanisms, strategically placed at the front and rear of the transverse leveling unit. This configuration ensures that the sheet is flat within the defined acceptance method in both directions, effectively eliminating internal stresses and support reliable leveling precision.
Components of the Dual-Direction Leveling Machine
The Dual-Direction Leveling Machine consists of several key components: the feeding device, the front longitudinal leveling mechanism, the transverse leveling mechanism, the rear longitudinal leveling mechanism, and the discharge device.
- Transverse Leveling Mechanism: The transverse leveling mechanism is composed of an upper row of rollers and a lower row of rollers. While the rollers’ planes are fixed, the upper and lower rollers are staggered in an interlaced arrangement. The upper row consists of four rollers, while the lower row has five. The position of the entire upper roller set can be adjusted vertically using a four-point worm gear system, and the pressure applied can be finely controlled via a manual handle. This precise control allows for accurate leveling of the sheet’s transverse surface.
- Front Longitudinal Leveling Mechanism: Positioned before the transverse leveling mechanism, the front longitudinal leveling mechanism comprises five rollers on the left and six rollers on the right. This setup ensures that the sheet’s longitudinal surface is properly leveled before it undergoes transverse leveling.
- Rear Longitudinal Leveling Mechanism: Located after the transverse leveling mechanism, the rear longitudinal leveling mechanism features three rollers on the left and four rollers on the right. These rollers, also known as side leveling rollers, are fixed in position both longitudinally and transversely. The distance of each side roller from the centerline of the leveling machine can be adjusted using a screw and handle mechanism, and a display gauge indicates the distance from the center. The outer center of each side roller has a groove with an arc-shaped bottom, and the width of the groove is determined by the actual material thickness, typically ranging from 0.5 to 4.5 mm, which corresponds to the standard thickness of steel strips that require leveling.
Advantages of the Dual-Direction Leveling Machine
The design of this Dual-Direction Leveling Machine offers several advantages over traditional leveling equipment:
- Comprehensive Leveling: Unlike conventional machines that only address the transverse surface, this machine ensures thorough leveling of both transverse and longitudinal surfaces, resulting in a more uniform and stable sheet.
- Precision Control: The ability to adjust roller positions and pressure with fine accuracy ensures consistent results, crucial for high-precision applications.
- Versatility: The machine can handle a wide range of material thicknesses, making it suitable for various types of sheet metal processing.
- Enhanced Product Quality: By effectively eliminating internal stresses and achieving precise leveling, the machine significantly enhances the overall quality and durability of the finished product.
Conclusion
The Dual-Direction Four-Sided Leveling Machine represents a significant advancement in sheet metal processing technology. By addressing the limitations of traditional leveling machines and offering a solution that can level both transverse and longitudinal surfaces, this machine meets the industry’s growing demand for high-precision, reliable, and versatile leveling equipment. Whether you’re working with steel strips or other types of sheet metal, this innovative machine ensures that your products meet the highest standards of quality and performance.
