AUTOMOTIVE RADIATOR-FIN STAMPING

Radiator-fin strip is thin and geometry-sensitive. A roller feeder can be evaluated for a fixed-pitch line, but pitch acceptance must include the die, pilots, strip condition and measurement method—not a feeder-only tolerance.

Evidence boundary

The original project numbers are not presented as universal capability. Confirm material, coil, progression, rate and acceptance from the actual inquiry and released model data.

Inputs that control the feeding trial

Record alloy and temper, thickness, width, coil weight, surface/lubrication, fin pitch, pilot design, louver/form stages, target rate and collection method. Thin material may require attention to coil tension and support before the feeder.

Do not assign all pitch error to the feeder

Measure repeated strip progression, then compare pilot-hole condition and finished fin geometry. Backlash, roll slip, release timing, strip stretch, die drag, thermal condition and measurement setup can all influence the observed result.

Controlled acceptance sequence

  1. Confirm passline, guides, roller condition and approved pressure.
  2. Check slow-cycle pilot handoff and interference.
  3. Measure repeated pitch and inspect strip/fin condition.
  4. Increase rate by approved stages and record the accepted state.

What to send for an engineering review

Provide the part drawing, strip material and surface, width, thickness, progression, target production rate, press interface, pilot/release requirement, coil data, line layout and measurable acceptance criteria. A feeder family or model should not be selected from the part name alone.
