In refrigerator cabinet panel stamping lines, steel coils are initially placed on the support arms of a heavy-duty decoiler. The uncoiled material feeds into a subsequent leveler or feeder. While standard decoilers and levelers include a material buffer zone, challenges arise when processing thicker cold-rolled steel or coils with irregular edges. These issues cause inconsistent tension between the decoiler and leveler, leading to material scattering, reduced uncoiling quality, and compromised production efficiency.

To resolve this, an air-pressure hold-down system is integrated into the heavy-duty decoiler. This anti-scattering device consists of a support frame and a drive mechanism, featuring precision hold-down rollers. Unlike hydraulic systems, the pneumatic drive (powered by industrial-grade cylinders) offers zero oil contamination and minimal resistance. The cylinders mount directly onto the decoiler’s frame, driving the rollers via a dedicated linkage.

The transmission assembly comprises a rotating shaft, swing arms, and connecting rods. Hold-down rollers attach to the swing arms, while cylinder pistons connect to the rods. Dual shaft brackets secure the assembly to the frame. When the cylinder actuates, the piston moves vertically—pushing/pulling the connecting rod to rotate the shaft. This motion swings the arms, pressing or releasing the rollers against the coil on the support arms.

Operators control pressure via an electromagnetic valve system. Push-button commands (“Hold” or “Release”) send signals to the control unit, which adjusts valve openness to precisely regulate cylinder stroke. This ensures effortless, one-touch material clamping.

Critically, each hold-down roller features a wear-resistant flexible coating. This protects the cold-rolled steel surface from scratches during uncoiling—a vital safeguard for refrigerator panels where flawless aesthetics are non-negotiable.

Why This Works for Refrigerator Cabinet Production:

  • Eliminates coil scattering during high-speed processing of 0.7–1.2mm cold-rolled steel.

  • Maintains tension on wavy-edged coils common in appliance steel.

  • Scratch-free material handling ensures pristine painted surfaces.

  • Pneumatic operation aligns with clean-manufacturing standards for appliance factories.
