THIN BATTERY FOIL FEEDING

A push-pull or dual-action arrangement may support fragile strip from both sides of a die, but it is a coordinated line-control problem—not a universal “dual-action roller feeder” capability.

Define the material and process first

Confirm whether the material is battery foil, current-collector strip, a battery contact or another stamped component. Record alloy, temper, thickness, width, coating, edge condition, coil tension limit, die progression and contamination controls. These are not interchangeable applications.

What dual-action must coordinate

A leading unit and downstream pulling/support unit must share a documented control and safety concept. Verify which unit establishes pitch, how tension is limited, how release/pilot action is handled, and what occurs during stop, restart, fault and tail-out. Uncontrolled pulling can stretch, wrinkle or disturb the die handoff. On HENLI’s RFS high speed roll feeder range, a synchronized push-pull setup is available for extremely thin or soft strip.

Acceptance must include strip condition

  • Repeated pitch and pilot condition.
  • Wrinkle, buckle, stretch and edge-wave inspection.
  • Surface, coating and contamination acceptance.
  • Stop/restart and tail-out behavior under the approved procedure.

Feeder architecture, roller surface and the stamped component are separate decisions.

What to send for an engineering review

Provide the part drawing, strip material and surface, width, thickness, progression, target production rate, press interface, pilot/release requirement, coil data, line layout and measurable acceptance criteria. A feeder family or model should not be selected from the part name alone.
