LAPTOP CHASSIS STAMPING

Laptop chassis work may involve larger blanks, formed panels or smaller frame components. A mechanical roller feeder only fits the subset produced from compatible fixed-pitch coil stock on a suitable press.

Evidence boundary

The page does not treat “laptop chassis” as one material or one line. Confirm the drawing, coil condition, blank size, forming route and accepted surface before selecting equipment.

Define the coil-stamped chassis part

Record material, temper, coating, width, thickness, progression, forming depth, pilot scheme, cosmetic zones and downstream assembly requirements. Large-panel blanking and small bracket stamping can lead to different layouts.

Architecture decision

A roller feeder can fit stable fixed-pitch work with an accepted mechanical press interface. Wider strip, changing blank patterns, programmable pitch or frequent model changes may favor an NC servo or another dedicated blanking arrangement. Compare the full line, not a feeder in isolation.

Prove flatness, pitch and surface together

Verify incoming coil shape, passline, side guidance, repeated progression, pilot handoff and roll traction. Inspect visible surfaces under the agreed lighting method and confirm formed geometry after the die, because feeder accuracy alone cannot prove chassis quality.

What to send for an engineering review

Provide the part drawing, strip material and surface, width, thickness, progression, target production rate, press interface, pilot/release requirement, coil data, line layout and measurable acceptance criteria. A feeder family or model should not be selected from the part name alone.
