In automated stamping lines for thick steel coil processing, the decoiler machine’s pressure unit serves as critical auxiliary equipment. During decoiler unwinding and feeding, its primary functions are to clamp the material tightly after packaging straps are cut—preventing coil spreading—and to guide/assist feeding during threading into downstream machinery. As the automated stamping line accelerates to stable production speed, tension diminishes when only 3–4 coil wraps remain on the decoiler drum. Here, the pressure roller descends to secure the strip, ensuring uninterrupted stamping.

Most conventional decoiler pressure devices use a swing-arm design with excessively long roller surfaces, complicating manufacturing. Precise positioning of the roller’s contact point with the coil is critical: if too far forward, severe wrinkling occurs at the coil’s leading edge, undermining guidance and feeding assistance; if too far back, the device fails to clamp or feed the material effectively.

Addressing these limitations, Henli developed an innovative decoiler pressure device. It integrates a photoelectric sensor on the unit to detect coil thickness, transmits data to a controller, and uses a servo motor to drive the pressure roller—achieving precise, real-time adjustment against the decoiler drum. This simplified structure ensures optimal performance, enabling efficient synchronization with high-speed unwinding demands.

Operation in Bulldozer Track Guard Production:
When processing thick steel coils for track guard stamping, the photoelectric sensor measures coil thickness on the pressure roller. The controller processes this signal and drives the motor to move the roller along guide rods, dynamically adjusting pressure distance. This eliminates wrinkling during heavy-duty stamping (6–12mm thickness) and maintains consistent feeding tension—even at the coil tail—critical for the dimensional accuracy of bulldozer track guards.
