NC Servo Feeder
Controls & Operation
Read the touchscreen. Follow the video. Connect each command to what the machine actually does.
HENLI technical guide · Updated September 18, 2026
An NC servo feeder is easier to understand when you separate four questions: What movement is being requested? Which job values are stored? Which optional functions are configured? What signals is the controller seeing?
This guide explains those questions using HENLI's operating video and the supplied touchscreen photographs. It is an interface reference, not a list of settings to copy. The photographs show one HMI layout; the video and photographs are not confirmed as the same control revision. Match the guidance to your machine before using any command.

Watch the NC feeder setup and operation video
The selected HENLI video, Precision Metal Stamping Automation: NC Servo Feeder Setup & Operation Guide, introduces touchscreen programming, manual feed/retract, multi-stage feeding and release/clamp testing. Watch it alongside your controller documentation to understand how the functions relate.

OPERATOR: separate manual movement from automatic operation
The photographed OPERATOR page brings together NC JOG+, NC JOG-, Manual-Auto, Auto start and Auto stop. It also shows position, setting, speed and counter fields.
Use these groups to understand the screen:
- Manual movement: the jog controls identify the two commanded directions. Confirm which direction advances material toward the die on your installation; a plus sign alone does not establish the physical direction.
- Mode and automatic commands: identify the selected mode separately from a start or stop request. A start button's color does not prove that the line is ready, and an automatic stop command is not a substitute for the emergency-stop system.
- Displayed information: compare the active job and counter information with the intended production order. A controller position reading does not independently prove that the strip moved the correct distance.
The photograph also includes Reset and Reversion. Confirm their exact effects before using them, especially after an interruption. Do not assume either restores the previous job or provides a safe restart.

SETTING: read the field and unit before the number
The SETTING page shows Length, PCS, Speed and Error columns, with five visible step rows. It also includes Step set, Jog speed and several timing fields.
For a job review, identify the intended feed sequence first, then check how this controller represents its lengths, quantities and speed. Confirm what PCS counts and how active steps are selected. Five rows in this photograph describe the screen shown, not the capacity of every NC feeder.
Keep the label ADD time as printed until its definition is confirmed in the matching documentation. Likewise, Master time and Error need their controller-specific definitions; an Error value of zero is not evidence of zero physical feed error.
The displayed numbers are examples, not a recommended recipe. Do not copy a speed or timing value from another machine simply because the screen looks similar.
| Photographed fields | What the photograph confirms |
|---|---|
| ADD time and DEC time | Units are shown as ms |
| Cut time, Master time and Delay time | Units are shown as s |
| Length, Speed, Error and Jog speed | Units are not visible |
For sequencing concepts, see the multi-step NC feeding guide. Use the documentation for your installed controller to confirm supported steps and behavior.

FUNCTION: recognize configuration choices
The FUNCTION page contains more than everyday operating commands. The photographed choices include Relaxation signal, Feed for the first time, Cutting mode, Control press and Press mode, alongside Test, Manual cut and Manual press.
These labels help identify what the supplied control program may support. They do not mean every feeder can command a press or cutting device. The screen itself notes that one function depends on a particular PLC configuration.
Treat release-signal selection and press/cut options as integration settings. The displayed Normal open, Continuous and Single selections are not universal recommendations. Before changing them, confirm the intended sequence and approved interface for the connected equipment.

MONITOR: distinguish incoming requests from outputs
The photographed monitor lists a Feed signal and Relaxation signal among the inputs, with outputs labeled Pulse, Direction and Release valve. This makes the page useful for communicating what the controller is receiving and commanding.
For example, when reporting a release problem, distinguish “the release input indication did not change” from “the indication changed, but the rollers did not respond.” Those are different observations, even if the visible symptom seems similar.
This HMI also shows an X2 Input selection: the assignment can relate to automatic start/stop or clamp/release. Do not treat the photographed X/Y labels as a universal wiring schedule, and do not alter signal assignments to make an unexplained symptom disappear.
From screen to machine
Connect the command to the physical response
The NC-300B photographs show the control cabinet, roller entry path and pneumatic hardware. Use these views to connect an on-screen term with the relevant machine area.
During an approved setup check, distinguish the command, the observed movement and the measured result. An illuminated signal does not by itself verify roller release, correct strip travel or synchronization with the press. If the observed response differs from the expected sequence, stop the setup and record the discrepancy before proceeding.
For the wider operating sequence, see our NC feeder operation and maintenance guide.
Make the issue clear
Send a support record that identifies the issue
For HENLI support, include:
- Machine model and serial number, plus a clear HMI-page photograph.
- Selected mode, active job and any displayed alarm or status.
- The command or event immediately before the problem.
- What the controller indicated and what the machine actually did.
- Whether the issue followed a job change, restart or other intervention.
Photograph exterior identification and safely accessible information. Do not open an energized cabinet merely to collect a component picture.
Quick answers
NC feeder control questions
Can I copy the photographed settings?
No. They are display examples. Confirm the applicable units, material, tooling, feed sequence and approved operating limits for your machine.
Does Auto stop isolate the equipment?
No. Treat it as an operating command, not energy isolation. Follow the machine's emergency-stop and isolation procedures as applicable.
Why does my screen look different?
HMI layouts and available functions vary with the controller and supplied configuration. Send your screen and machine identification so HENLI can review the relevant version.
Your machine / Your control version
Need help with an NC feeder screen?
Send the machine model, a clear screen photo and the observed symptom. HENLI can review the relevant configuration with you.
