Project Service Scope
Define site readiness, responsibilities, tests, evidence and handover before the feeder arrives. The service scope can then be quoted around the actual destination, equipment package and support method.

Choose the Support Model That Matches the Project
| Support model | Typical scope | Availability boundary |
|---|---|---|
| Document and remote review | Review supplied drawings, site data, I/O questions, setup records, photos or video; provide documented recommendations or remote guidance. | Subject to agreed language, communication method, time zone, data quality and quotation. |
| Factory preparation and test support | Prepare the supplied feeder package, confirm available functions and record agreed pre-shipment checks. | Only for equipment and test conditions available at the factory; the customer press, die and production environment may not be represented. |
| On-site installation or commissioning support | Perform the tasks named in the quotation together with the customer and responsible local parties. | Destination, visa, travel, access, local safety rules, schedule, utilities and third-party scope must be confirmed before commitment. |
Pre-Installation Data Gate
Work should not be scheduled from a feeder model name alone. The following project data should be released or clearly marked as pending:
- Feeder, controller, press and die identity, including serial or drawing revisions where available.
- Approved layout, feed direction, passline datum, mounting details and maintenance clearances.
- Material width, thickness, grade, strength, surface and representative test quantity.
- Feed pitch, target SPM, job sequence, die pilot and release requirement.
- Power, protective earth, compressed air where applicable and local utility standards.
- Press timing source, I/O list, safety responsibility boundary and approved control drawings.
- Lifting plan, anchoring, strip supports, upstream coil-line readiness and guarded access.
- Customer contacts authorized for safety, production, quality, maintenance and acceptance.
Installation Scope Matrix
| Work item | Possible HENLI scope when quoted | Customer / local readiness normally required | Completion evidence |
|---|---|---|---|
| Receipt and identity check | Verify supplied package against the agreed documents. | Receive, store and present equipment without unreported damage or missing packages. | Equipment and document checklist. |
| Positioning and mounting | Guide or perform named feeder mounting tasks within the quoted package. | Approved lifting, press access, mounting structure, local labor and permits as agreed. | Mounting, passline and clearance record. |
| Utilities | Check feeder-side connection points and specified utility conditions. | Compliant site supply, isolators, protective earth, air preparation and licensed work where required. | Utility values and connection sign-off. |
| Controls and signals | Check the quoted feeder I/O and documented sequence. | Released press drawings, responsible controls personnel and approved machine-level safety design. | I/O matrix and functional test record. |
| Material path | Review feeder entry, roll path, die entry and applicable strip support. | Ready decoiler/straightener, material, die and line layout. | Alignment observations and trial record. |
| Guarding and access | Identify supplied feeder guards and interface points within the quote. | Machine-level risk assessment, perimeter guarding, light curtains and local compliance decisions. | Open-item list and responsible-party sign-off. |
Commissioning Stages
Stage 1 โ Readiness release
Confirm installation, guards, utilities, stop authority, documents and responsible personnel before controlled motion.
Stage 2 โ Function and I/O checks
Verify applicable feeder states, commands, alarms, release action and machine interfaces against the approved matrix.
Stage 3 โ Jog and single-stroke trials
Observe strip path, roll grip, guide behavior, feed direction, die entry and release timing under authorized controlled conditions.
Stage 4 โ Measured speed ramp
Use representative material and documented hold points. Increase output only after the previous condition is stable and accepted.
Acceptance Evidence and Handover
| Record | Minimum content |
|---|---|
| Configuration record | Identified feeder, controller, firmware or program where relevant, job recipe and parameter backup method. |
| Material and production condition | Material identity, width, thickness, grade, pitch, die, press and tested SPM. |
| Measurement record | Method, sample size, results, acceptance limit, instrument and responsible reviewer. |
| Interface test | Ready, command, timing, feed-complete, release, alarms, reset and applicable safety-interface observations. |
| Deviation list | Open items, temporary conditions, owner, due date and effect on release. |
| Training and handover | Attendees, topics, documents, spare parts, maintenance points and escalation route. |
| Sign-off | Named customer and supplier representatives with date and accepted scope. |
Items Not Included Unless Written Into the Quotation
- Press, die, PLC, safety-controller or third-party equipment modification.
- Local electrical licenses, statutory inspection, certification or complete-line safety validation.
- Cranes, forklifts, rigging, foundations, welding, utilities, scaffolding or local labor.
- Travel, visa, accommodation, local transport, overtime or repeated visits.
- Production guarantees for material, tooling or conditions not included in the approved test plan.
- Unscheduled training, translation, spare parts or consumables not named in the scope.
Information Required for a Service Quotation
- Destination country, city and plant access requirements.
- Feeder quotation or serial number and the complete supplied-equipment list.
- Requested support model, dates, shifts, language and number of working days.
- Press, die, material, feed pitch, target SPM and acceptance criteria.
- Site-readiness status, photos, layout, utility data, I/O list and responsible contacts.
- Required deliverables: report, training record, test sheet, parameter backup or sign-off format.
Frequently Asked Questions
Is on-site installation included with every feeder order?
No. The included support depends on the written quotation and destination. Confirm remote, factory and on-site scope before placing the order.
Can HENLI commission the feeder before the customer press and die are ready?
Factory checks can verify only the available equipment and agreed simulation. Final press timing, die release, material behavior and line acceptance require the actual site conditions or an explicitly equivalent approved test arrangement.
Who is responsible for complete-line safety?
The responsibility boundary must be defined contractually and through the project risk assessment. A feeder supplier can validate its quoted functions and interface points, but this does not automatically certify the press, guarding, die protection, upstream equipment and entire production line.
What prevents disputes at acceptance?
Use identified material and equipment, measurable criteria, an agreed sample size and speed, named measurement methods, recorded deviations and authorized sign-off. Avoid criteria such as โruns wellโ without evidence.

Define the Service Scope Before Scheduling
Send the destination, equipment identity, requested dates, press and die data, site-readiness evidence and required acceptance deliverables. HENLI can confirm availability and quote only the scope that can be responsibly delivered.
