In modern manufacturing, speed and efficiency are critical to maintaining a competitive edge. One area where this is particularly true is in automated stamping production. In order to use pre-wound coils, they must first be unwound by a decoiler. The problem with traditional decoilers is that they use a single reel to support the coil. When one coil runs out, the entire production line must stop while the reel is reloaded and adjusted, which can be a lengthy process. This results in decreased efficiency and wasted time.
Fortunately, a solution to this problem has emerged: the twin decoiler. This type of decoiler has two reels symmetrically installed on a rotating platform. This allows one reel to be driven to the unwinding position by the rotating platform while the operator loads the other reel. When one reel is unwound, the other can be immediately rotated to the unwinding position, allowing for uninterrupted operations. The twin decoiler has high efficiency, good continuity, and can improve the overall efficiency of the stamping production line.
To use a twin decoiler, it must first be arranged in an appropriate position on the stamping production line with the number one reel in the upper winding position. Then, the coil is loaded onto the number one reel using a forklift or crane. The rotary expansion and contraction oil cylinder of the number one reel is used to expand and contract the coil, ensuring that it is tight and properly supported.
Next, the first coiler of the twin uncoiler is positioned at the upper unwinding position, and the material stop A-type iron is installed on the outside of the material. The first coiler is slowly rotated using the deceleration motor, and the lining roller on the swing arm is lifted to release the head of the steel strip. This allows the strip to be guided into the pinch rolls and enter subsequent machines for leveling or feeding. Meanwhile, the second coiler is rotated to the upper unwinding position, and the process of loading, testing, and unwinding is repeated.
When the first roll of the twin uncoiler is finished unrolling, the locking device of the rotating platform is released, and the roll is moved to the up-coiling station for up-coiling and uncoiling inspection. The second roll is rotated to the uncoiling position, and the process continues.
With the twin decoiler, manufacturing companies can achieve continuous, uninterrupted uncoiling, resulting in increased efficiency and productivity. This technology is just one example of how innovation and creative problem-solving can help businesses stay competitive in a fast-paced, ever-changing marketplace.
