Introduction: What is Servo Feeder and Why is it Important?

Servo feeder is an automated equipment that uses servo motor and roller to feed metal sheets into a punch press, achieving continuous and precise stamping. It is widely used in various industries, such as automotive, electronics, appliances, etc. The correct installation and debugging of servo feeder are essential for ensuring the continuity and performance of the production process. Before installing the servo feeder, it is necessary to know its components.

Components of Servo Feeder:

  1. Machine head: It contains the servo motor and the servo feeder roller, which are used to transport the metal sheets.
  2. Installation plate: It fixes the machine head to the punch press worktable.
  3. Electric control box: It is used to operate and set the control system of the equipment.

Steps of Installing and Debugging Servo Feeder:

Step 1: Install the installation plate

  1. Fix the installation plate of the servo feeder to the side of the lower worktable of the punch press.
  2. Make sure the installation plate is aligned with the middle position of the T-slot on the worktable.
  3. Drill four M16 holes on the side of the worktable according to the hole positions on the installation plate.
  4. Use bolts to firmly fix the installation plate.

Step 2: Install the machine head

  1. Use a forklift or a crane to lift the machine head of the servo feeder, and align it with the key slot on the installation plate fixed on the worktable.
  2. Use the matching bolts to fix the machine head.

Step 3: Adjust the installation plate

  1. The installation plate usually has about 100mm of adjustment range.
  2. After installing the mold, loosen the two bolts on the installation plate.
  3. Adjust the bolts, and adjust the height of the servo feeder according to the mold height. Tighten the bolts.

Step 4: Place the electric control box

  1. Place the electric control box in a suitable position on the punch press.
  2. Connect the electric control box with the machine head with the servo motor drive line.

Step 5: Set the feeding and relaxation

  1. For pneumatic servo feeder: Connect the relaxation signal line to the cam group of the punch press, and adjust the servo feeder to be in the relaxation state when the punch press stroke is close to 180 degrees.
  2. For mechanical punch press servo feeder: Install the relaxation punch rod at the corresponding position on the punch press slider. If the material is thin, a guide plate should be installed to avoid skew.

Step 6: Connect the feeding signal line

  1. Connect the feeding signal line with the cam of the punch press.
  2. Set the punch press slider to start feeding at 270 degrees.
  3. If there is no cam group, a micro switch or a proximity switch should be installed to realize automatic feeding and relaxation.

Step 7: Set the electric control box

  1. Set the feeding length, times, speed, and other parameters through the touch screen on the electric control box.

The correct installation and debugging of servo feeder for punch press are vital for ensuring the production efficiency and product quality.
