In the realm of steel production for stamping processes, the decoiler stands as a pivotal apparatus. The conventional method of manually centering and loading steel strip coils into the decoiler, while functional, poses challenges such as inefficiency, imprecise centering, and a lengthy learning curve for operators. Additionally, safety concerns arise, particularly with heavy coil loads.

Advantages of Automated Decoilers with Oil-Pressure Platforms

Addressing these challenges, the integration of an automated decoiler with an oil-pressure platform emerges as a game-changer in loading processes. This system, driven by a motor, autonomously assesses coil dimensions, ensuring efficient centering and tensioning during loading. The benefits include heightened efficacy, superior centering precision, and ease of mastery for operators.

Operational Sequence of Decoiler with Oil-Pressure Platform

  1. Material Feeding:
    • The oil-pressure platform moves rightward, guided by a motor.
    • The reflective photoelectric sensor C3 validates the signal, recording the distance as S1.
    • Continued movement occurs until the C3 signal becomes invalid, with the distance recorded as S2.
    • Coil width (b) is determined as S2-S1.
    • Adjustments to the oil-pressure platform’s left and right movements are made until S=(S2+S1)/2+L3, ceasing movement.
    • The lifting hydraulic cylinder raises the material tray, separating the coil from the preparation platform, and the oil-pressure platform shifts left.
  2. Centering of Uncoiling Spindle:
    • Cease movement when S=L1-L2.
    • The lifting hydraulic cylinder ascends.
    • The reliable through-beam photoelectric sensor C1 validates the signal, recording the height as h1.
    • Calculate the coil height D1=H1+H0-h1.
    • For smaller coils, use the second through-beam photoelectric sensor C2 and height H2 in place of H1.
    • Align the lifting hydraulic cylinder using the formula H=h+D1/2-H0, ensuring consistency in the vertical center between the coil and the decoiler spindle center.
  3. Centering of Uncoiling Core:
    • Continue the leftward movement of the oil-pressure platform until S=L0-L2, then halt.
    • The centering of the decoiler is completed.
  4. Reset:
    • Lower the decoiler lifting hydraulic cylinder to its lowest position.
    • Move the oil-pressure platform rightward to its original position.
    • Await the next loading cycle.

Conclusion

In conclusion, the integration of automated decoilers with oil-pressure platforms not only addresses the inefficiencies and safety concerns associated with manual loading but also enhances overall production efficiency. This innovative approach ensures precise centering and tensioning, making it a valuable asset in the competitive landscape of steel stamping processes.
