High-Strength Strip
This guide separates the real material or manufacturing requirement from standard servo-feeder functions, then identifies the data and validation needed for a reliable line.
What the Evidence Supports
This page separates the real material or manufacturing topic from capabilities that have not been demonstrated for a HENLI servo feeder.
- High-strength and ultra-high-strength sheet grades cover a wide range of yield strength, tensile strength and formability.
- This guide covers coil-fed high-strength sheet; it does not cover 1200°C billet forging or treat DIN 1.2201 as a feeder specification.
- The page has a real 1.2201 query footprint, so the grade is retained as a buyer-input example rather than a feeder model.

Evidence Required for Special Claims
The application name alone does not prove a special machine capability. Treat each claim as project-specific and record the evidence used for quotation and acceptance.
- Machine specification: identify the exact model, component ratings, environmental limits and approved material envelope.
- Performance: state the test material, feed pitch, cycle rate, sample size, measurement method and acceptance tolerance.
- Certification or compatibility: identify the applicable standard, scope, configuration and supporting report instead of relying on a general label.
What the Servo Feeder Controls—and What It Does Not
| Engineering area | Feeder or line action | Boundary |
|---|---|---|
| Motion profile | Servo acceleration and deceleration can be programmed for the required pitch and cycle. | The usable cycle depends on motor torque, reduction, inertia and press timing. |
| Traction | Roll pressure and surface condition transmit feed force. | A universal pressure value cannot cover every high-strength strip. |
| Straightening | A matched straightener addresses coil set and flatness. | The feeder alone does not remove coil memory or high-strength crossbow. |
| Registration | The feeder positions strip before the die closes. | Final feature location may depend on die pilots and release timing. |
Application Data to Verify Before Quotation
Use measured production data and material documentation. A feeder model should not be selected from the application name alone.
- Collect the mill certificate, including yield strength, tensile strength and elongation.
- Confirm finished strip thickness, width, edge condition and coating.
- Calculate the longest feed pitch at the required strokes per minute.
- Evaluate coil weight, inner/outer diameter and straightener capacity.
- Define allowable roll marks and whether pilot release is required.
- Run a full-cycle sample trial rather than accepting a model from grade name alone.
Recommended Engineering Workflow
1. Verify the material
Do not rely on a trade name or DIN number without the actual certificate.
2. Match the coil line
Size decoiler, straightener, loop and feeder as one system.
3. Prove pitch at SPM
Test the longest programmed move inside the available press window.
4. Inspect the part
Measure feed repeatability, pilot engagement, marks, flatness and die load.
Frequently Asked Questions
Can HENLI feed DIN 1.2201 strip?
Possibly, if it is supplied as strip within a selected line’s verified capacity. The material certificate and production cycle are required.
Is this the same as forging billet feeding?
No. Coil roll feeding and hot-billet handling are different systems.
Does higher steel strength always require a larger feeder?
Strength is one input. Width, thickness, acceleration, straightening, friction and line layout must be evaluated together.

Define the Application Before Selecting a Feeder
Send the material standard and condition, width and thickness range, feed pitch, target strokes per minute, press and die details, surface requirements, line layout and the acceptance method. HENLI can review the standard feeder scope and identify any special engineering that still requires validation.
