Project Support Scope

Decoiler Installation, Commissioning and Retrofit Service

HENLI support can be scoped as document/remote review, factory preparation and test support, or onsite work when explicitly quoted. The written project scope controls location, duration, responsibilities, deliverables and exclusions.

Short answer: identify the machine, coil, downstream equipment, site, utilities, interfaces, loading method and acceptance jobs before requesting service. Installation support is not automatically included with every machine order.
RemoteDocuments, data, photos and guided checks
FactoryPreparation, FAT and handover evidence
OnsiteOnly when destination and scope are quoted
RetrofitExisting-machine geometry and interfaces first

Which Support Modes Are Available?

Mode Possible scope Confirmation needed
Document/remote review Data gate, drawings, photos/video, checklists and remote meetings Machine identity, language/time zone, available personnel and evidence
Factory preparation/FAT Configuration review, test plan, function/material checks and records Test material, criteria, attendance and open-item process
Onsite support Installation readiness, commissioning assistance, training and acceptance support Destination, visa/travel, days, local resources, safety and written scope
Retrofit readiness Existing-machine measurement, interface review and proposal Drawings, dimensions, condition, utilities, controls and site constraints

What Information Must Be Ready?

HENLI decoiler configuration used for installation and commissioning review
The identified machine, layout and surrounding material path control the service plan.
  • Machine identity
Model, serial/project, current drawings, manuals and supplied options.
  • Coil/material
Grade, thickness/width, weight, ID/OD, surface and trial material.
  • Line/site
Downstream model, passline, feed direction, layout, foundation and access.
  • Utilities
Power, air, hydraulic and site connection responsibility.
  • Controls
I/O, modes, alarms, stop sequence and interface owner.
  • Acceptance
Jobs, criteria, measurement, evidence and sign-off responsibility.

What Does Installation Readiness Cover?

Area Readiness evidence
Receiving/identity Packing list, damage record, nameplate, options and document revision
Position/foundation Centerline, passline, level, anchors/floor and loading/service clearance
Utilities Approved power/air connections and responsibility
Material path Coil loading, retention, strip exit, loop/buffer and downstream alignment
Controls/safety Signals, modes, guards, stop functions and risk-review actions

How Is Commissioning Staged?

  1. Readiness review.Close installation, documents, guards and utilities.
  2. Manual/I-O checks.Verify direction, jog, expansion, arms, sensors, alarms and agreed interfaces.
  3. No-load functional check.Observe drive, brake, hydraulic/pneumatic response and abnormal condition.
  4. Material threading/trial.Use approved coil and the supplied procedure.
  5. Staged duty increase.Record loop, overrun, heat, vibration and downstream coordination.
  6. Acceptance/handover.Close criteria, exceptions, training, records and sign-off.

What Is Different About a Retrofit?

The existing machine owns the interface. A coil car, brake, sensor, VFD, arm or control upgrade requires actual center heights, floor/rail path, load/condition, circuit data, available space and safety responsibilities. Catalog compatibility is not assumed.

Retrofit boundary: the proposal should state which existing parts remain, what is modified, who verifies the old machine condition, and how the updated system will be tested.

What Is Not Included Unless Quoted?

Typical exclusions may include unloading/rigging, foundation/civil work, local electrical/air installation, press/die/third-party PLC modification, production material, local permits/certification, complete-line safety validation, travel/visa/accommodation, local labor, consumables, unplanned repairs and production-output guarantees. The written quotation is definitive.

What Should the Service Deliverables Be?

Deliverable Content
Scope and responsibility matrix Supplier, buyer and third-party tasks
Readiness/open-item list Required data/actions, owner and due date
Test/acceptance record Conditions, method, criterion, result, exception and disposition
Handover record Documents, training, settings, spares and sign-off
Safety boundary: service assistance does not transfer the employer/site owner’s duties or certify the complete line unless that exact work is contracted and performed by qualified parties.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is onsite commissioning included with every decoiler?

No. Availability, destination, days, work scope and costs must be stated in the written quotation.

Can HENLI retrofit equipment from another supplier?

A review may be possible when identity, condition, drawings, measurements and interface responsibilities are available.

Does commissioning guarantee production output?

Only project-specific acceptance criteria stated in the contract can be evaluated. A generic page cannot promise output or part quality.
