Vertical Terminal Rewinder for Precision Stamping
Collect connector contacts, lead frames and plated terminal strips onto reels at the stamping-line exit.
Choose VT single-axis or DVT double-axis take-up, then match the sensing method, paper interleaving and reel arrangement to your strip and production line.
Confirm load, reel diameter and speed together for the selected machine, strip and control configuration.
Machine overview
A take-up unit for continuous terminal strips
The rewinder collects the carrier strip after stamping. Its reel arrangement and speed response are selected around the strip loop, surface and downstream handling.
Coordinate the press exit and the take-up reel
A variable-speed drive winds the strip while the sensing system monitors the material path. The layout must leave room for the strip loop, reel changes and operator access.
For gold-, silver- or tin-plated terminals, consider non-contact sensing and protective paper between wound layers. Surface protection depends on the complete path, including guides, reels and handling.
Connector contacts, lead frames, LED brackets and other precision stamped terminal strips. Share a strip drawing or sample when discussing the configuration.
Collection process
From the press exit to the finished reel
Plan the material path around the terminal profile, including projecting contacts, carrier edges and surfaces that must avoid contact.
- 01
Press exit
The stamped carrier strip leaves the die and enters the planned collection path.
- 02
Strip loop & sensing
The loop allows for the difference between intermittent strip delivery and winding movement.
- 03
Paper interleaving
When selected, paper joins the strip at the winding stage to separate adjacent layers.
- 04
Take-up reel
The strip winds onto the selected reel for handling and the next production operation.
Give HENLI the feed length per stroke and operating stroke rate. Average output alone does not describe starts, stops and short changes in material delivery. Check the usable loop space, sensor position and take-up response together during setup.
Model selection
Choose the number of active winding axes
The number of powered take-up spindles defines VT or DVT. Single-side and opposite-side arrangements are separate layout choices.
VT ยท Single-axis take-up
One active winding spindle collects one terminal strip. A passive spindle holds the interleaving paper reel.
Starting point for an individual strip collection position.
DVT ยท Double-axis take-up
Two independent active spindles collect two separate strips. Confirm the reel dimensions and strip path for each axis.
Choose the physical arrangement around both material paths.
Optional electronic counting
Add counting control when the collection quantity per reel needs to be monitored. The counting method and stop function depend on the selected control package.
An option for the selected model, specified in the quotation.
Start with the collection task
Use one powered take-up position for one terminal strip. For two separate strips, provide both material paths, reel sizes and production rates so the two DVT collection positions can be assessed together.
Plan the reel change
Check space to fit a full reel, remove it and bring in an empty reel. If uninterrupted production during reel changes is required, include it in the enquiry so the necessary arrangement and controls can be defined.
Sensing selection
Match the sensor to the strip surface
Both sensing methods regulate collection around the strip loop. Choose the configuration after reviewing material contact and the actual line conditions.
12V contact induction
A contact induction frame senses the metal strip. This is a starting point for standard strip where contact at the sensing position is acceptable.
Non-contact photoelectric sensing
A photoelectric sensor monitors the strip loop without touching it at the sensing point. Consider this option for plated terminals and other surface-sensitive strips.
Non-contact sensing avoids contact at the sensor. Guides, reel alignment, paper and operating conditions still need to be matched to the strip.

The listed ฮฆ600โ650 mm maximum reel OD range varies with configuration. Confirm the reel load and dimensions, strip material, winding speed and line interface together. The listed AC 220V single- or three-phase supply is configuration-specific; confirm voltage, phase and frequency before ordering. Three-axis and special spindle-pitch arrangements are available for project review.
Layout & configuration
Arrange the spindles, paper and access around the line
Reel diameter, winding height and operator access influence the final layout. Installation photos show configured machines, so identify included features and options in the technical proposal.
Single-side or opposite-side layout
Place the spindles around the available floor space and strip entry direction. Separate strip paths and sufficient reel-changing clearance are part of the layout review.
Paper interleaving
A passive paper spindle supplies protective kraft paper between wound layers. Match the paper width and reel arrangement to the terminal strip; paper reduces direct layer-to-layer contact.
Threaded spindle & reel locking
The published design uses ฮฆ20 threaded active spindles with cone nuts and handles. Provide the reel center hole and hub details so mounting, locking and clearance can be checked.
Mobile frame with brake casters
The triangular steel frame and brake casters support positioning beside the line. Confirm machine placement and the operating arrangement during installation.
Multi-axis customization
Three-axis tower layouts, different spindle spacing and other multi-axis arrangements can be reviewed for the project. Controls and the usable reel envelope are specified for the selected layout.
Custom terminal reels
Confirm the reel as part of the winding system
The reel core diameter, center mounting hole and outer diameter describe different dimensions. Match all three, together with the winding width and required load.
| Reel detail | Available reference options |
|---|---|
| Reel material | ABS + PC |
| Outer diameter (OD) | 420, 450, 500, 550, 560, 580 and 620 mm |
| Inner core diameter | 160, 220, 300 and 400 mm |
| Center hole | 25 and 30 mm options |
| Inner core thickness | 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 20, 21, 22, 23 and 30 mm |
| Assembly options | Buckle series, inner round washers and custom stacked combinations |
Reels can include reinforced ribs, positioning holes, grip holes and reserved logo areas. Select the buckle, washer and stacked core arrangement around the required winding height.
Send a drawing with OD, core diameter, center hole, winding width and hub structure. A center-hole diameter alone does not establish compatibility with the spindle or the available reel envelope.
Strip & reel fit
The core diameter sets the starting winding radius. Compare it with the terminal shape and any bending limits on the part drawing. The winding width must suit the strip profile, paper and planned layer arrangement. Provide the empty reel weight and intended finished reel weight so the load basis can be confirmed.
Paper & surface review
For plated contacts, identify the critical surfaces and where handling marks are unacceptable. Review paper width, cleanliness and alignment with the proposed strip sample. Entry guides, reel flanges and handling also affect the finished surface. Inspect a wound sample after unwinding it to check suitability for the next operation.

Line integration & trial
Agree the interface and check a wound sample
Define the required behavior before ordering, then use the intended strip, reel and paper to review the complete collection arrangement.
Define the operating sequence
Agree how the take-up should respond when the press pauses, the strip loop changes or a reel reaches the planned collection quantity. Record the required line signals and intended stop and restart sequence in the technical proposal. Where counting is selected, confirm what is counted and how its result will be checked for the actual strip.
Review the production trial
Check loop movement, strip alignment, layer placement, finished surface and operator access across the intended operating conditions. Include a planned press pause and restart in the agreed trial procedure. For DVT, assess both collection positions with their intended paths. Record the accepted configuration and sample result for delivery and setup.
